The fastest and most convenient method from Hanoi is a direct flight.

During peak holiday seasons, airlines often open temporary routes linking Phu Quoc with: Hai Phong, Vinh, Thanh Hoa, Da Nang, Nha Trang, Da Lat

These are not year-round, so if you cannot find a direct flight, the quickest option is to connect via Ho Chi Minh Cityor Hanoi.

Flights From the Mekong Delta: Phu Quoc currently operates only oneflight route in the Delta: Can Tho → Phu Quoc. Other former routes like Rach Gia → Phu Quocare no longer active.

If you’re not bringing a vehicle, both options work fine. Express boats are preferred for speed, while ferries offer more stability and comfort for those prone to seasickness.

If you are bringing a car, your only option is vehicle ferry (phà cao tốc).If you’re bringing a motorbike, both options are possible — though loading motorbikes onto express boats can be more cumbersome and expensive during peak periods.

Coming from Ho Chi Minh City on motorbike:

Sea Routes From Other Islands

Con Dao → Phu Quoc

There is no direct public ferrybetween these two islands.
Travelers must return to the mainland (Vung Tau, Soc Trang, or Can Tho) or fly via HCMC before continuing to Phu Quoc.

Hon Son / Nam Du → Phu Quoc

Superdong once operated a Phu Quoc → Nam Du route, but it is currently suspended.
If you want to visit Nam Du or Hon Son, you must travel via
Rach Gia.
